Procedures For Reverse Officers
1. What is the level of education that is required to be entitled to apply for the rank of reserve officer?
Those, who graduate from a faculty, academy or a higher education institute (the term of education of which is at least 3 years) that is approved by the TRNC Ministry of National Education, or from schools which are approved to be the equivalent of such institutions by the decision of Council of Ministers, meet the educational criteria which entitle one to apply for reserve officer pre-candidacy.
2. When is the application for being a reserve officer made?
Those who graduated from an academic institution that is approved by the TRNC Ministry of National Education must apply for reserve officer nomination candidacy within one year following their graduation date.
3. How to apply to be a reserve officer?
The application is made either in person or by a close relative or someone with a trust deed by submitting a petition to the Military Recruitment and Mobilization Office Directorate. The applicant submits the petition either with the original or the photocopy of the diploma or a temporary graduation certificate (if the diploma is not yet given) that is approved by the TRNC Ministry of National Education. The recruiting office gives a “proof of receipt” to those who apply duly and timely, whose documents are received and who get registered.
4. How is the final roll-call of the reserve officer pre-candidates made?
a. The final roll-calls of those who apply duly and are included in the resource of conscripts are made on the dates determined by the TRNC Security Forces Command every year.
b. The roll-call dates are announced via press and media organs.
c. Those who will attend the roll-call must be present at the location and on the date indicated in the announcement together with the necessary documents.
d. Those who attended the roll-call and received their document of transfer to the Education Center Command must bring their higher education student certificates before the date of attendance to the Education Center (last working day before the attendance until 17.00).
5. How long is the term of service of those who are entitled to reserve officer pre-candidacy?
The terms of service of those who graduated from a higher education institute that entitles one to reserve officer pre-candidacy are as follows:
a. 12 months for reserve officers, or
b. 12 months for sergeants.
5. When do reserve officers can join military forces?
There are 3 inductions for reserve officers in a year. Last roll-call dates for reserve officers are within March, June and September.
